Overview
Vietnam is expected to become a new production hub of the world as “Made in Vietnam” products are winning larger shares in the international market. last year, Vietnam enjoyed good results in foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction, and drew hundreds of millions of USD right in the beginning of 2022, which showed the strong confidence of investors, including many giant firms such as Foxconn, Pegatron, Wistron, LEGO and Nike, in the country's economic prospects. Vietnam earned a record amount of 57.54 billion USD from exporting telephones and accessories in 2021, a rise of 12.4 percent year on year, and a 25-fold increase from the 2.3 billion USD recorded in 2010. As of the end of 2021, Samsung had invested 18 billion USD in Vietnam. Currently, more than 50 percent of Samsung’s cell phones are produced in Vietnam. Smart mobile devices manufactured in Vietnam are being exported to 128 countries and territories in the world.
The transportation of the high-end products such as smartphone, laptop, and other digital devices from factories in industrial parks in the North, Central and South of Vietnam to the international airports, seaports and border stations by fueled container trucks, then exporting the global market is the key transportation mode currently. It creates heavy pollution in the environment. Manned and unmanned clean-fueled trucking will be good alternatives and the future transportation modes as they have the exciting possibility to help reduce logistics cost and delivery congestion on our roads in a sustainable, eco-friendly, zero emission way.
The Community-Base Green Transport Project (in short: The Project) is the development of a green, digital and autonomous transport capacity with OpenAir system to be able to deliver high speed, affordable, emissions- free cargo transportation in Vietnam. The Project is planned to has two phases:
- Road freight transportation by LNG trucks and cargo electric motorbikes in the Hanoi-Hai Phong and Hanoi-Lang Son expressways
- Running autonomous truck service in test mode in the OceanX lab and piloting its service in real-environment.
- Expand freight transportation by LNG trucks and cargo electric motorbikes to other expressways in Vietnam.
- Deployment of autonomous truck service to the expressway system in Vietnam.

Mission
Helping businesses go green, digital and autonomous in road freight transport
Aim
The aim of The Project is to build a green, digital and autonomous road freight transport network that is able to deliver high speed, affordable, emissions - free road freight transport in Vietnam.

The new development includes the deployment of the LNG manned trucks, electric manned and unmanned trucks and cargo electric motorbike fleets together with their stations and the AI-based OpenAir platform which integrates various transport and other software to support green, digital and autonomous road freight transport capability.
Vehicles and their stations are digitally connected with the OpenAir platform to form a vehicle network and infrastructure network (OpenHub) within the OpenAir system.
These new resources will work together with the existing freight system in Vietnam using train, ship and airplane to be able to deliver multimodal freight transport through an AI-based OpenAir Pass validated across the entire OpenAir system.
Various vehicle and infrastructure technologies and solutions from different suppliers will be deployed in The Project through the cargo transport options designed and operated by OpenAir Vietnam based on the OpenAir platform.
Objectives
Routes
The project starts with Hanoi-Hai Phong and Hanoi-Lang Son expressways in the north of Vietnam then expanding from time to time to others from time to time.
